The Company was incorporated in the State of West Bengal, India on 14th June 1977 as a public limited company under the provisions of the Companies Act 1956 (Act). Its main objects per Memorandum & Articles of Association are, amongst other things, to grow, cultivate, manufacture, treat, blend, process, buy, sell and deal in tea in various forms, to carry on the business as planters in all its branches, to manufacture, buy, sell and deal in machinery for processing tea and in connection therewith or acquire by amalgamation, purchase, take-over or otherwise the whole..

Our entire emphasis is towards the development of a world-wide group of businesses which by their very nature require their managements to take a long view. Many companies in the group are in excess of 100 years old. These enterprises have acquired particular skills, traditions and ethos, and we see ourselves more in the nature of custodians or trustees than as owners. That is we do not see these assets as objects or commodities...

1. Goodricke Group Ltd. regret to announce the sudden demise in Kolkata on 22nd May 2013 of Mr. Devaki Prasad Chakravarti, Vice President & Company Secretary of Goodricke Group Ltd. Mr. Chakravarti joined Goodricke Group Ltd. in 1994 as Company Secretary

We are completely shocked at the sudden death of Mr. Chakravarti. May God give him eternal rest and may his soul rest in peace.

2. The Packet Tea Department has recently taken some new initiatives:-

- A retail outlet has been opened at DB Mall at Bhopal named “Goodricke Teapot” which serves Darjeeling and high end CTC teas and iced green teas.

- A tea kiosk has been made functional at Fortis Hospital at Noida. At Jaipur a retail outlet is operated by TAPRI franchisee.

3. The Company has commenced commercial operation of Pre-mix teas of several flavours like lemon, peach & orange for cold serving. Ginger flavor in hot serving will commence shortly. Retail sachets of 25g packs of the above are being marketed through an established retail chain. Bulk quantities of pre-mix are marketed directly by the Company.

4. The Packet tea department of Goodricke Group Ltd. bagged the prestigious order to supply packaged teas to the Rajasthan State food and civil supplies corporation for the three districts of Ajmer, Bhilwara and Nagore. The name of the packet to be supplied has been aptly named as Raj and the company expects to supply around 1 million kgs under this project commencing September 2011.

5. The Packet tea department bagged the coveted order to supply its Goodricke Premium brand of CTC tea bags to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) which is the body that governs the Tirumala Venkateshwara Temple. Expected supply 4 million tea bags.
